ATL Opponauts, today is the Atlanta Science Festival Expo at Piedmont Park. We will be there with a huge tent and a CF34 engine. Not a demo engine either. The real deal. I will be somewhere in the tent from 12-2 if you want to say hi. It’s a great event if you have kiddos or if you just want to get outside and get nerdy.

Damn, I had no idea...we’re coming to ATL later this week during our little spring break roadtrip but would have shifted plans a bit for this. My 8-y-o eats this stuff up.
Side note: anything worthwhile to do near the airport? We’ll be going from LaGrange/Callaway Gardens to Stone Mtn and looking for a stopover on the way. We always try to find at least one new lesser-known thing to do on each trip (puppetry museum, Fernbank museum, etc)

Have lunch at Restaurant 356 at Porsche HQ and tour the facility. They have a good museum and you can see the track and watch planes. You have to have reservations for that, but worth it.
The Delta Museum is solid as well. Be sure to check out the 747. They have done cool stuff with it. My engineers designed the shackles holding the gear.
The original Chik-Fil-A is around there as well.
Up in Stone Mountain you should hit up the German Restaurant right outside the park. Authentic food and good beer.
What day are you coming through? I normally offer tours of the hangars to folks who are interested. I am afraid this week is crazy with a capital C for me since I’m working 3 days and then going on vacation for two weeks.

Thanks! We’ll probably be around on Thursday morning but it’s all still flexible. In my 4-5 trips to Stone Mtn I had never heard of the German place, I’ll check that out. Delta and Porsche both sound great, hopefully we can make it work. I’m honestly so sick of all the inside-the-perimeter traffic and parking, we’re always looking for non-city stuff to do whenever possible.
We’re doing the Callaway azaleas, ziplines, FDR/Little White House, Georgia Safari Park, then up to Stone...so not much time allotted for ATL this trip. Thanks again. I’ll let you know next time we’re coming through and maybe we can meet up at the hangar!
